The second Barrio Fiesta in Cheshire East brought colour, culture and community spirit to Queens Park, Crewe today – and what a brilliant celebration it was!
This free, family-friendly festival welcomed people from across Crewe, Nantwich and beyond to enjoy a full day of Filipino heritage, music, dance and delicious food. With the full support of the Philippines Department of Tourism and Crewe Town Council, the event was a vibrant showcase of Filipino pride and hospitality.
Throughout the day, the park was filled with live entertainment – from talented bands and singers to energetic dance groups performing traditional and modern routines. The atmosphere was full of joy and celebration, reflecting the warmth and generosity of the Filipino community.
There was plenty for families to enjoy, including games for children, face painting, and a busy photo booth – always a favourite at Filipino gatherings, where people posed in traditional clothing or with fun props to capture the moment.
The food stalls were a highlight, offering a range of much-loved Filipino dishes and drinks. Visitors were treated to the flavours of the Philippines, from savoury classics like adobo and pancit to sweet treats and refreshing tropical drinks – a true culinary tour of Filipino cuisine.
Events like Barrio Fiesta are a wonderful way to bring people together, celebrating both community and culture. It was fantastic to see so many people from all walks of life enjoying the day, learning more about Filipino traditions and strengthening the bonds that make Crewe and Nantwich such a welcoming place.
Congratulations to the organisers and all involved in making the day such a success – here’s to an even bigger and better Barrio Fiesta in 2026!
