Helping St Barnabas Residents Improve Their Financial Health

I understand that many households are facing increasing financial pressures, especially when it comes to managing bills, benefits and everyday essentials.

I would like to share that The Financial Welfare Team is offering free, confidential support to residents across the borough.

Whether someone is unsure if they’re receiving all the benefits they’re entitled to, or they’re struggling to pay off council tax arrears, the Financial Welfare Team is here to help.

What Support is Available?

The team offers a range of services designed to improve financial wellbeing:

• ✅ Benefit Health Checks – A full check to make sure residents are receiving all the benefits they should be

• ✅ Council Tax Arrears – Support with setting up affordable repayment plans

• ✅ Blue Badge Support – Help with applying for a Blue Badge if someone has mobility issues

For residents on a low income, additional support includes:

• Council Tax Support

• Housing Benefit

• Discretionary Housing Payments

• Free School Meals
