It was a real pleasure to attend the flag-raising ceremony this morning at Crewe Memorial Square, marking the beginning of Armed Forces Week here in Crewe.
We were joined by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, and proud partners including the Royal British Legion, the Mayor of Cheshire East, the Mayor of Crewe, local dignitaries, schools and members of the public.
The ceremony was led by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant and served as a moving tribute to the men and women who serve – and have served – in our Armed Forces.
Standing together as a community in the heart of Crewe, we took a moment to reflect on the commitment, bravery and sacrifices made by our service personnel.
It was a powerful reminder of the importance of unity, gratitude, and remembrance.
As Armed Forces Week continues, I encourage everyone to take the time to honour those who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country.
Let’s show our support not only today, but throughout the year.
