The past couple of weeks have been incredibly busy across our ward, as I’ve been out and about tackling litter and helping to keep our streets looking their best. 🧹 It’s been a huge effort, but seeing the difference we can make when we take action is genuinely rewarding.
You’ve probably seen the green bags I’ve been filling up and leaving by litter bins for the council to collect. Over several full days, I’ve been covering streets all across the ward, making sure that areas that need attention get it.

Some of the places I’ve focused on include:
Minshull New Road 🟢
Badger Avenue 🟢
Frank Webb Avenue 🟢
Rolls Avenue 🟢
Underwood Lane 🟢
Mayfield Mews 🟢
Sandiway Road 🟢
Windsor Avenue 🟢
Kettell Avenue 🟢
McNeill Avenue 🟢
Darlington Avenue 🟢
Bowen Cooke Avenue 🟢
West Street 🟢
Brooklands Grove 🟢
Fallowfield Court 🟢

Even after all this work, the difference is clear. Streets are cleaner, and our local environment feels better. But this isn’t something I can do alone. The more of us who get involved, the bigger the impact we can make – and the stronger our sense of community becomes. 💪🌿

Why it matters
Litter isn’t just unsightly – it can be dangerous for children, pets, and wildlife. Broken glass, cans, and other rubbish can cause injuries, while plastic and other materials can harm animals and pollute our green spaces. By taking even a small amount of time to clean up, we’re making our streets safer and more welcoming for everyone.
Join the effort
If you know of an area that could use a tidy-up, or if you’d like to help out, please contact me directly. I can provide free litter picking equipment, and even a small group can make a huge difference. It’s amazing what can be achieved when neighbours work together.
Litter, litter everywhere! 🚮
My Great St Barnabas Litter Cleanup isn’t just about picking up rubbish – it’s about showing pride in our community and looking after the area we all call home. Every bit of effort counts, and even a few hours can make a visible impact.
Let’s come together, roll up our sleeves, and make our ward a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming place for everyone. Together, we can keep our streets looking their best and show that small actions really do add up.
So, are you or your family up for it? Let me know!
