An update on our work in your area
On Monday 14 July, we got in touch to inform you about the work taking place in your area.
We’ve made some changes to our works schedule to reduce impacts on road users and residents.
Please read below to find out more.
What’s happening in your area
From 21 July, we’ll be carrying out work at the roundabout between Tottys Hall Way and Bob Brown Way. This work has been agreed with Cheshire East Council, and you’ll see our teams working there from Monday 21 July to Sunday 27 July 2025.
Once this section is complete, we’ll be moving on to Bob Brown Way, with work taking place from Monday 28 July until mid-August 2025.
This work, along with the associated traffic management plan, have been agreed with Cheshire East Council.
What we’re doing – a recap
We’re installing new underground electricity cables to support Mid-Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s creation of a new health and care neighbourhood, centred around the development of the new Leighton Hospital.
Our work involves building a new electricity substation off Flowers Lane and connecting it to Leighton Hospital via a series of new underground cables.
Our standard working hours are 07:00 to 17:00, up to seven days a week.
An update to our scheduled works
-
On 14 July we informed you of our plans to introduce a full road closure at the roundabout between Tottys Hall Way and Bob Brown Way
-
This has been changed to accommodate single file traffic at the roundabout from 21 July to 27 July
-
On 28 July, we will be moving on to Bob Brown Way, introducing a full road closure from the roundabout up to Flowers Lane as planned
What this means for you
-
Access to the hospital will be maintained throughout our work
-
Pedestrian access via Smithy Lane will involve a short diversion as our work progresses
-
Signs and diversion routes will be in place to assist pedestrians and road users with journeys
-
No power cuts are expected during the work – electricity supplies will stay on
Thank you
We know roadworks can be disruptive and we’re doing all we can to keep inconvenience to a minimum while we complete this important work. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
