‘The Dome’ Youth Zone, Crewe – February Newsletter

Posted on 31 March 2025

I’m very happy to be able to share the February edition of The Dome’s quarterly newsletter with you. It’s an exciting time for us, as we continue to build a vibrant and supportive space for young people here on Oak Street in Crewe.

A New Section from the Young People’s Development Group

One of the highlights of this quarter’s newsletter is a brand-new regular section from the Young People’s Development Group. This group plays a key role in shaping The Dome into a space that truly meets the needs and aspirations of the local youth. Their correspondents have worked hard to remind us all of the importance of this project and the impact it will have on young people in Crewe. Their contributions highlight the purpose of The Dome – a place where young people can come together, be themselves, and access opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.

Exciting Archaeological Discoveries

We’ve also had some interesting archaeological developments on site! As we continue to build The Dome, it’s been fascinating to uncover elements of Crewe’s rich history. These discoveries remind us of the importance of preserving the heritage of the area while building a bright future for the youth. We’ll be working closely with local historians and archaeologists to ensure that any significant finds are properly documented and celebrated.

OnSide Youth Zones: Making a Difference Nationwide

In this edition, we also take a look at the impact of other Youth Zones in the OnSide network. These Youth Zones are making a real difference in their communities, offering safe spaces for young people to engage in activities that help them develop new skills, find new passions, and build relationships. The success stories from other Youth Zones serve as an inspiring reminder of the positive changes that can be achieved when we invest in our young people.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to work towards the opening of The Dome in Crewe, we remain committed to creating a space that reflects the diverse needs of Crewe’s youth. This is only the beginning, and with the continued support of the community, we are confident that The Dome will become a place where young people can find inspiration, build confidence, and create lasting memories.

Thank you for your continued support of The Dome. We’re excited to share progress with you and look forward to keeping you updated in future editions of the newsletter.
