I’ve got a Crewe on Sea postcard stuck to my fridge at home, so I’ve had a constant reminder that the seaside is coming back to Crewe this Bank Holiday weekend! π
And if you’ve not been before, it’s definitely worth heading into town.
From Saturday 29 August to Monday 31 August, Lyceum Square will once again be transformed into a little seaside in the heart of Crewe, complete with real sand, deckchairs and plenty of free family entertainment.
The event runs from 11am to 4pm each day and there really is plenty going on across the weekend.

WHAT’S GOING ON?
There’ll be free face painting, children’s crafts, live music and beach discos from local DJ Catch92, as well as a whole host of seaside-themed entertainment.
You’ll also need to keep an eye out for some rather unusual visitors to Crewe…
πͺ½ The Giant Seagulls will be swooping into town, bringing plenty of mischief with them.
ποΈ The Lifesaver will be putting on a comedy show packed with circus skills, beach rescues and plenty of laughs.
π The Van Dunk Brothers and All Hands on Deck will also be bringing their walkabout performances to Lyceum Square.
And on Bank Holiday Monday, there’ll be a spectacular bubble show from Cosmic Faerie.
There are also free face painting and crafts with Creative Crewe and Pixie Jen Face Painting, with the children’s craft activities taking place on Saturday from 11am to 3pm.
A GREAT FREE DAY OUT
One of the things I really like about Crewe on Sea is that it’s completely free.
You don’t need to travel to the coast or spend a fortune on a family day out. The beach is coming to us!
It’s also another great opportunity to spend some time in Crewe town centre, have a look around the shops and support our local businesses while you’re there.
Last year’s event attracted more than 1,000 visitors, so it’s fantastic to see it returning for another year.
Crewe Town Council is delivering the event in partnership with Crewe BID, with support from Mornflake, as part of the Town Council’s wider Summer Festival of Fun.
So, if you’re wondering what to do with the family this Bank Holiday weekend, get yourself into town and come and enjoy Crewe on Sea.
I’ll hopefully see plenty of you there! π
