The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) has now published its final recommendations following a review of Cheshire East’s ward boundaries — and I’m really pleased to share some great news for our community here in St Barnabas.
Following months of consultation, feedback, and review, the Commission has confirmed that the St Barnabas ward will remain exactly as it is, with no changes to its boundaries. This is a strong endorsement of the identity, cohesion, and character of our community, and I’m very proud that this has been recognised in the final decision.
🗣️ Community Voices Were Heard
During the consultation process, I submitted my strong support for keeping the current boundaries, as did the local Liberal Democrats and several residents. Many of you also shared your views, highlighting how important it is to keep our community united and not see it merged with other, very different areas of Crewe.
In its final report, the Boundary Commission noted:
“The Liberal Democrats, Councillor Pratt and three local residents expressed support for our proposal to retain the existing boundaries of Crewe St Barnabas ward, content that its name and boundaries continue to reflect local identities. Given the support we have received for this ward during consultation, we are confirming our draft Crewe St Barnabas ward as final.”

✅ Why This Matters
Ward boundaries define how local communities are represented on Cheshire East Council. These boundaries affect everything from who you vote for in local elections to how well your area’s voice is heard. Keeping St Barnabas intact means our community retains its distinct identity and doesn’t lose its representation by being absorbed into other parts of town.
👏 Thank You
Thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation and supported the case for retaining our ward. Your involvement made a real difference, and this outcome is a direct result of local people speaking up.
🔮 Looking Ahead
Although the next local elections aren’t until 2027, I want you to know that I remain committed to representing the people of St Barnabas and standing up for the things that matter to our area. I hope you’ll continue to support me as we look ahead to the future together. 💛
If there are any local issues you’d like to raise, or if you want to get involved in community matters, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Let’s keep St Barnabas strong, united, and thriving.
