π‘ SAY NO TO OVERDEVELOPMENT β HMO PLANS FOR 523 WEST STREET π‘
π¨ Planning Application Objection β Make Your Voice Heard! π¨
As your local councillor for Crewe St Barnabas, I have submitted a formal objection to a new planning application that could have a significant impact on our neighbourhood.
A proposal has been submitted to convert 523 West Street into a 6-bedroom House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) β application number 25/1642/FUL. This property lies right in the heart of our community, and I believe the plans raise serious concerns that need to be addressed.
Key Issues with the Proposal:
β Inadequate Parking Provision
The property offers only one parking space for potentially six adult residents. There is no on-street parking available outside the property due to double yellow lines, and local roads such as Hulme Street are already experiencing severe parking pressures.
β Overdevelopment of a Small Terraced Property
The house is simply too small to accommodate six residents without causing disruption. Converting it into a multi-occupancy home represents overdevelopment and would likely lead to increased noise and disturbance for neighbours.
β Poor Internal Living Space
Plans show a very limited kitchen area and restricted cooking facilities β unsuitable for safe and healthy shared living.
β Strain on Waste Management Services
The area is already struggling with fly-tipping and bins left out on pavements. Increasing occupancy without a clear waste plan will only make things worse.
π£ Have Your Say β Get Involved
This application will directly impact our community, and your views can make a real difference. I encourage everyone who lives nearby or shares these concerns to submit a comment or objection to Cheshire East Council.
