This I had the pleasure of attending the car show at The Royal Oak in Worleston. Despite the overcast skies and occasional drizzle, the event was a delightful gathering of car enthusiasts and families alike.
The Royal Oak, a historic coaching inn dating back to 1730, underwent a complete restoration and reopened in Spring 2022. The pub now boasts a 70-seat dining/function room, a hand-built curved bar, electric vehicle charging points, a wood-fired pizza oven, and two outdoor summer pavilions. Set within four acres, the outdoor space has a great beer garden with outside bars and a children’s play area, making it a perfect place for community events such as the car show and bike meets that are regular appearances on their calendar.
The car show welcomed all vehicles, from classic cars to modified moderns, with no pre-booking required, just turn up and enjoy. The event featured live music from Jack Shaw, adding to the lively atmosphere. Attendees could also enjoy opportunities to snap some photos and indulge in delicious food from Pigsty Pizzas, which I did! Sunday roasts are of course also avaiable.
Arriving in my own vehicle (neither classic nor modern!) I was warmly welcomed into the chat with others who had come along. It’s always refreshing to see such inclusivity in community events, where the love for cars transcends the make or model!!
If you missed this event, don’t worry! The Royal Oak hosts regular car shows, with the next one scheduled for 3rd August 2025. These events are a fantastic way to spend a day enjoying good company, great food, and, of course, beautiful cars.
