SP Energy Networks is installing a new underground cable connection to support the development of the new Leighton Hospital on land adjacent to the existing site.
Our work in the area is progressing well, and we’re now moving on to Middlewich Road.
What you’ll see
Work will begin on Middlewich Road from 19 January, from Boulderstones Bridge to Brian Palin Way. Our upcoming work covers 800 meters of the local road network and will be carried out in stages, rather than all at once, to keep disruption to a minimum. Temporary traffic management will be in place at different points so everyone can move around the area safely.
What this means day to day
There will be some short-term changes to how roads are used while work is underway. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained, and teams on site will help where specific access is needed. As the work moves along the route, completed areas will reopen before work starts elsewhere.
Why it needs to be done
We’re upgrading the electricity network to support the development of Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s new health and care neighbourhood in Crewe, providing a reliable and resilient electricity supply for the new hospital development.
We will continue to keep you, other elected representatives and local people informed as our work progresses. We are also working closely with Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to keep people informed.
In the meantime, should you have any questions, please contact us on 0800 138 9179 (between 9am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday) or by emailing crewecapacityworks@spenenquiries.co.uk
Kind regards,
