HMO plans for 523 West Street – HAVE YOUR SAY!

🏑 SAY NO TO OVERDEVELOPMENT – HMO PLANS FOR 523 WEST STREET 🏑

🚨 Planning Application Objection – Make Your Voice Heard! 🚨

As your local councillor for Crewe St Barnabas, I have submitted a formal objection to a new planning application that could have a significant impact on our neighbourhood.

A proposal has been submitted to convert 523 West Street into a 6-bedroom House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) – application number 25/1642/FUL. This property lies right in the heart of our community, and I believe the plans raise serious concerns that need to be addressed.

Key Issues with the Proposal:

❌ Inadequate Parking Provision
The property offers only one parking space for potentially six adult residents. There is no on-street parking available outside the property due to double yellow lines, and local roads such as Hulme Street are already experiencing severe parking pressures.

❌ Overdevelopment of a Small Terraced Property
The house is simply too small to accommodate six residents without causing disruption. Converting it into a multi-occupancy home represents overdevelopment and would likely lead to increased noise and disturbance for neighbours.

❌ Poor Internal Living Space
Plans show a very limited kitchen area and restricted cooking facilities – unsuitable for safe and healthy shared living.

❌ Strain on Waste Management Services
The area is already struggling with fly-tipping and bins left out on pavements. Increasing occupancy without a clear waste plan will only make things worse.

πŸ“£ Have Your Say – Get Involved

This application will directly impact our community, and your views can make a real difference. I encourage everyone who lives nearby or shares these concerns to submit a comment or objection to Cheshire East Council.

πŸ“§ Or email: planning@cheshireeast.gov.uk
πŸ“ž Or call: 0300 123 5014
(Please quote application number 25/1642/FUL)

Let’s stand together to protect the quality of life in our neighbourhood.

Thank you for your continued support.
